Highlights
- Designed and selected materials for a peristaltic pump keeping intrauterine pressure within critical limits during minimally invasive hysteroscopic procedures
- Tested and selected pump tubing to maintain desired pressure and flow rate in operation
- Conducted mechanical verification testing on minimally invasive surgical cutting tools against design specifications
A contract role in medical device R&D, working on a peristaltic pump for hysteroscopic procedures — minimally invasive surgery inside the uterus, where keeping intrauterine pressure within a tight safe range is a real patient-safety constraint, not just a nice-to-have spec. I also built assembly drawings in SolidWorks for handoff to packaging engineers for large-scale manufacturing, and ran mechanical verification testing on surgical cutting tools. This role led directly into full-time work at Medtronic once it wrapped up.
